Custom doodles offered on fiverr.com

On a whim, I decided to post an offering of a 3"x3" doodle, custom, on fiverr.com -- each doodle earning me $5. Well, this weekend, I was "hired" for a doodle by a gentleman who owns Sushi Freak, based in California. sushifreak.me He basically messaged me and asked if I could do something around their logo/feel of their company design. He sent their logo and a banner to get a feel for their design.

I designed one doodle:

He liked that one and then payed for me to do another incorporating their logo,
to which I provided this doodle:

If you are in California, please stop and check out Sushi Freak! I sure wish I could, especially being in Wisconsin... upon another long, cold winter!

In the end, he suggested not keeping their hard, white border on their logo and possibly replacing it with a "doodle-border"...

I am happy with this one!! :)

From ADDitude Magazine: 9 Ways to Focus Right Now: Harness the Power of ADHD Fidgeting

Attention deficit children and adults can actually improve focus by multi-tasking sometimes. These secondary "fidget" activities may be the key to improving your or your child’s ADHD attention and focus.

Doing two things at once, it turns out, can actually helpfocus the ADHD brain on a primary task.
Experts believe that engaging in an activity that uses a sense other than what's required for your primary task — listening to music while reading a social studies textbook, for example — can enhance focus and improve performance in children with attention deficit disorder. These secondary tasks are called fidgets — mindless activities you can do while working on a primary task.
We're not talking about wriggling in your seat. Fidgeting is more intentional. It's pacing or doodling while on the phone, or chewing gum while taking a test. An effective fidget doesn't distract you from your primary task because it is something you don’t have to think about.
Use these fidget secrets the next time you or your ADHD child needs help focusing:
Walk or Move
When your ADHD child gets restless and tunes out an important conversation, try walking and talking. Any non-strenuous activity, like playing catch or doing a jigsaw puzzle together, will also work. This is a powerful strategy for talking over your child's day orcommunicating with your ADD partner about an important matter.

Stand Up or Move Around

Talk with the teacher about small school accommodations like letting your child stand, at appropriate times, during the school day. A child can do this discreetly at the back of the room or at his desk. Some teachers assign a child two desks, so he can move from one to the other when necessary. Other teachers let restless kids be message runners and send them off on real or invented errands.
Doodle & Use Special Pens
If you can't focus in a meeting at work, use a coffee break or a visit to the washroom as an excuse to stand. If you're really restless, use a bathroom visit to run up and down a flight of stairs, fast, a few times.
creative learning trick is to encourage your child to draw or write words or numbers when listening to a teacher's lecture (just make sure he doesn't doodle on the desk). Doodling will also help ADD adults focus when they're on a long phone call with a client or are in an endless, boring meeting.

NEW! The Jeff Journal

I wanted to be able to offer some masculine designs, so the first one is named after my wonderful husband, Jeff. He deserves a lot more from me, other than just naming a journal after him, for all of the hard work he does for me and our family. Not to mention dealing with me and my ADHD. Love you!

New! The Barb Journal

The newest addition to the journal family is the Barb Journal. Barb is fun and crazy, just like this journal! The tropical theme within the doodles will have you feeling warm year-round!

The Jodi Journal

This journal is named after a friend of mine who shares my sense of humor, occasional immaturity & inappropriateness (LOL), and love of wine. She is fun, beautiful and hardworking. The design for this journal is bright, sophisticated yet playful, and strong - much like Jodi. And, just like her, this journal is a great place to vent and get out your secrets.

The Jackie Journal

I've found a new publisher that is much cheaper than the first, so I am moving forward with the Jackie Journal and will also move ahead with publishing the Jodi and Barb Journals.

Each journal will be $15, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Edge Foundation, which helps those with ADD/ADHD.

If you have any special requests for a type or color of journal and doodle, please email me: Maddern.Kelly@Mac.com.
